Interview with Blōma: Wellness supplements for hens
When you think of a hen party, they are usually synonymous with partying and few too many glasses of bubbles. That’s a lot of fun in the moment but these days more women are feeling the dread of how that’s going to make them feel not just the next da¡y, but disrupt their wellbeing and schedule in the days following a heavy weekend.
There’s where Blōma step in: Founded by women, for women, they’ve developed a natural formula to help your body recover from excess and promote balance in your life so you can enjoy a few cocktails without so much guilt or fear of how you might feel later. That sounds like a perfect hen party accessory or party bag gift!

Amy: First off, I'd love to know - what inspired you to start Blōma, and how did your personal wellness journeys lead to creating these products?
Laurine: We’ve both always cared about our health, but in different ways. Trish has that gym-girl discipline, I’ve always been more into nutrition, mindful movement, and honestly… supplements. I love testing things, reading ingredient labels, seeing what works. But the deeper we got into wellness, the more intense and restrictive it all started to feel. Like, you can either be the “clean” girl who avoids everything, or the party girl who writes off the next day entirely. And we just didn’t relate to either. We enjoy our routines, we also enjoy a glass of wine. They’re not mutually exclusive.
Trisha: And there was also just so much stuff. Everyone, when it comes to post-drinking solutions, is telling you to take electrolytes, NAC, magnesium, a debloat powder, even aspirin... It started to feel like a second job. Overconsumption and honestly kind of discouraging. With everything we want to release through Blōma, the goal is always simplification. Why not have it all in one?
Amy: How did that hangover ‘lightbulb moment’ evolve into a full-blown women-first wellness line?
Trisha: At first, we just wanted to launch one product and see how it landed. But the more research we did, the more we realised how big the gap actually was. There are products out there labelled for women but not built for women, not with any real holistic understanding of our bodies.
Laurine: What’s missing is that deeper connection. For example, the way alcohol affects our liver, which then affects our hormones, our PMS symptoms, even our libido and reproductive health. It’s all connected, and no one’s really talking about that in the recovery space.
Trisha: So yeah, we started with hangover recovery but it was never just about hangovers. Everything we’re building now is based on two things: less is more, and personalisation at scale. That might sound like a trend to some people, but honestly, it’s just the beginning. We’re only starting to understand how women’s bodies actually work. It’s fascinating, it’s long overdue, and we want to be part of it.
Amy: Planning a wedding (and partying with your hens!) can take a real toll - how can Blōma support brides and bridesmaids through all the fun, stress, and recovery?
Laurine: Weddings are magical but also emotional, busy, and full of late nights and fizz. Whether it’s the hen party or the big day itself, Blōma is your one go-to ritual to support it all.
Our formula supports hydration with sodium, helps your liver detox with NAC and artichoke leaf extract, and eases digestion and bloating with dandelion root and concentrated ginger extract. We’ve included powerful ingredients like gingerol and saffron to reduce nausea and support mood, and adaptogens like ashwagandha to calm cortisol and hangxiety. Vitamins B1, B6, and B12 bring real energy and focus, while maca and zinc support hormonal balance during a time your body needs it most.
One product. One sachet. Real impact.
Trisha: Whether you're the bride waking up next to your new hubby, a bridesmaid getting ready for brunch, or a guest pulling it together for day two, Blōma helps you feel good in the moment. Because, honestly, you want to enjoy the big moments not ruin them with the day after. Blōma is that little plus to make sure you can soak up all the moments that matter.
“We enjoy our routines, we also enjoy a glass of wine. They’re not mutually exclusive.”
Amy: Hen parties often mean fizz, late nights, and full schedules - what are your personal essentials you'd recommend packing for a weekend away with the girls?
Trisha: Hahaha I think Laurine’s better placed for this one. I’ve actually never been to a hen party!
Laurine: Right, I’ve got this. Fourth-time bridesmaid and definitely not the last, I know my way around a hen do. These days, I actually start taking Blōma the day before the weekend kicks off and keep it going each day. It’s my non-negotiable.
After that, my essentials: under-eye masks (Grace & Stella are my ride-or-die), a good lip balm, SPF (obsessed with Hello Sunday!) and my Stanley cup, because if I don’t carry it, I 100% forget to drink water. Oh, and makeup wipes. I’m too lazy to remove makeup properly at 2 a.m., so wipes are my very honest Plan B.
Amy: I love that your Blōma is made by women, for real women, with natural ingredients - can you tell us more about the science and story behind creating the product?
Trisha: Thank you, we love that you see that, because it’s so central to what we do. Blōma was born out of frustration with wellness products that claimed to be for women, but weren’t actually built with our biology in mind. Alcohol affects women differently, because our bodies are different. From hormone fluctuations and slower alcohol metabolism to increased hangxiety and PMS symptoms, the impact runs deeper. Every ingredient in Blōma has a purpose, and we only included what’s actually needed. No filler, no fluff.
And because we take it ourselves (literally every weekend), we made sure it fits into real life. One sachet after a drink helps you wake up clear, steady, and ready to enjoy the next day.
Laurine: But beyond the science, Blōma is for real women, for women with full lives, messy schedules, and health goals that aren’t about perfection. We’re not here to say alcohol is good, we’re here to say it’s okay if you choose to drink, and it’s more than okay to care about how your body recovers from it.
We believe in joyful health, wellness that fits into your life, not the other way around. That means no shame, no extremes, and no pretending we all have flawless routines.
Trisha: And on the sustainability side, it wasn’t even a question. The world we live in doesn’t allow for shortcuts anymore. We’ve worked exclusively with local partners here in the UK. Our manufacturer, formulation lab, and packaging producer are all within a 100km radius. Keeping things local helps reduce waste, support the regional economy, and lets us build real relationships with the people who make Blōma possible.
Amy: Lastly, I like to ask everyone; what’s a charitable cause that means something to you? Could you imagine a way to support them at a hen party?
Laurine: That’s such an interesting question. For me, my mind goes straight to the decline in fertility and the lack of awareness around it. So many women don’t learn how their bodies actually work until they’re deep into their 30s and by then, options feel limited. It’s a complex one to bring into a hen party, but maybe it’s as simple as including something in the goody bags, a fertility education leaflet, or even supporting a group like Hertility that’s doing incredible work in this space.
Trisha: I love that. For me, it’s more about access, specifically helping young people in underserved communities understand and access wellness. That means nutrition education, affordable fitness practices, even mental health support. There’s so much work to do there.
For a hen? I think it could be really cool to flip the idea of a typical “wellness day” and collaborate with a coach or yoga teacher to bring that energy into a local school or community centre. Let the bridal crew show up and lead a mini class or just participate. It could be a really meaningful way to celebrate sisterhood by giving it back.
