Why Volunteer at Spitalfields City Farm?

If you’re based in London or choosing to celebrating your hen party here, volunteering at Spitalfields City Farm gives your hens the opportunity to do something hands-on, team-building and really unique. Spitalfields City Farm was originally set up by volunteers in 1978 and they still rely on volunteers today to help maintain the farm and gardens, look after the animals and assist in delivering projects. In short, without volunteers there would be no farm.

What you’ll do at the farm

Tasks vary according to seasons and what is a priority at any one time, however, they are always tailored to suit the interests of the volunteers and their skill-sets. Some of the tasks that they need help with include painting, gardening, mucking out stables and cleaning the duck pond, but needs change on a daily basis. You can find a more detailed list of volunteer tasks on the Spitalfields City Farm website.

The cost for volunteering covers all staff time, materials, the use of gloves, boots and any other protective clothing needed for particular tasks and all health and safety requirements.
