About Wild Water Art

Gemma first began delivering lino-printing workshop online over lockdown and since then, she’s worked both in person and online with many groups and organisations to offer fun and creative printing workshops that also have a sustainable elements to them.

Gemma creates a warm and intimate space where people can explore their creativity, learn a new skill and have fun together - what could feel better for your hen party! There are different options for what you can print, depending on the interests of your bride and hens - read on below to find out more about lino-printing and the choices.

What is a lino-printing workshop?

Lino-printing is a method of printmaking that involves cutting out your design on a piece of linoleum that you’ll then use like a stamp to print onto paper or fabric. It’s an easy and effective way to create printed designs even if some of your hens aren’t so confident being creative or crafty. Based on what you’d like to produce Gemma offers a few options:

Learn How to Linocut

Learn how to make a linocut print from start to finish in this fun, relaxing and creative workshop, where you'll leave with a few prints of your own design.

Maybe you can produce prints together that’ll be used in your wedding as place settings or decorations, making a sustainable connection from your hen party by putting what you create to real use.

Sustainable Tote Bag Lino-Printing

Create your own linocut print on a tote bag. All materials can be provided, but you can make this a really sustainable activity by asking everyone at the hen party to bring along a canvas tote bag they’d like to spruce up - we’ve probably all got one of those hanging around! You’ll use a small printing press in this session to print on the bags.

Linocut Card Making

Create your own set of cards using the linocut printmaking technique. You’ll cut out the design on the lino and then print it onto cards to take away with you.

You could even combine it with supporting Post Pals - your hens could each send one of their cards to a severely ill or disabled child who welcomes friendly post! Leave with a gorgeous set of cards and a big smile on your face that you’ll pass onto a child as well.

What makes this an LGBTQ+ friendly workshop?

Certainly no workshop we promote is unfriendly to LGBTQ+ people, but there is a difference in actively offering an event that supports people who part of the community. A safe, supportive space held by someone who understands queer experiences, and where LGBTQ+ people can identify together, can take your workshop experience and hen party to another special level. Gemma delivers an arts council-funded mindfulness and arts programme with LGBTQ+ people across the UK, so she has great experience in creating a fun and supportive workshop.

LGBTQ+ workshops aren’t exclusive - if the person you’re celebrating identifies as queer but there are also straight people joining the hen party, everyone is welcome!
